Haydock races

Kit and I went to a horse race in Haydock with my colleagues yesterday. It was quite interesting to go, since I never been to one in my life. In general, I would say its a nice day out, the weather wasn't bad, I think I've managed to get a tan as well (which is something that I wanted the least, Brits might be happy to get one but I reckon I would be the other way round).

Of course we did place bets on different races and horses, I think this could be the first time I've ever bet in my life, I never do lottery nor football. However, I find betting on horses quite amazing, especially when we go to the parade ring to visit the horses and see their condition before we placed our bets.

The interesting thing about today was the betting, especially when I was betting on one race for Traytonic, I've actually wanted to bet on each way (basically means as long as the horse get a place, either 1st, 2nd or 3rd, sometimes can be a 4th, I would be able to get my winning). However, its not the first time, I've got the wrong bet, I've managed to buy a "to win" ticket, basically if the horse doesn't win, I would be able to receive any money. Kit realized it once I've bought the ticket and I was thinking, oh no, I've done it again. That horse does seems like a good chance to win, the only thing was when I was queuing to place my bet, Traytonic was actually getting ready to go to the gate, but it seems like there were some problem that it doesn't want to go in and the jockey had to step down and get the horse to go in before he can ride on it again. This little incident actually made the odds to change from 12:1 to 14:1. I really freaked out and annoyed about myself buying the wrong ticket, I started to think what if it won 2nd or 3rd, I must be very angry about myself. I was praying that either it doesn't win anything or it come 1st place at the race. Then I guess what I can call miracle or luck happened, I wouldn't believe what I saw when that happened , it seems like Traytonic actually won the race , I just didn't believe my eyes, I had to look at Kit to get some sort of confirmation. However, I think he is very confused himself . I think it's when my colleague told me that I've actually won then I've started to jump around. That bet won me £75 and I've only placed a £5 to bet for that race. I think this is quite amazing .

I want to go to another race again before I leave UK, I think going to these races are quite different to HK and I will enjoy it much more in here. Anyways, I should stop now, time for me to hit the bed, its work again tomorrow, it's been awhile since I worked and I have to work 9 days in a row (I think).
